Intelligent Allocation feature allows AIMS360 clients to make sure they ship orders out on time, all the time. This feature is one of our many inventory management tools for our fashion business software. Firstly, Intelligent Allocation congregates all the inventory data; this includes finished goods already in stock and goods still in Work in Progress (WIP). Start allocating or ‘marking’ all goods as assigned or reserved to an order based on rules you set from that data. Regardless of whether you’re a wholesaler or a retailer, Intelligent Allocation works for all types of fashion businesses.

Below are some common ways to use Intelligent Allocation.
- Dates (Ex. Shipping window dates)
- Priorities (Ex. priority of customer or payment type)
- Order source (Ex. Shopify order or specific department store)
There are more use cases than these three. Essentially, brands can customize their own Intelligent Allocation rules.
Allocating Goods by Date
Scenario: Brand A has inventory in place and lots of customers’ orders. When manually allocating goods for picking they have accidentally shipped customers whose order completion date was after others. As a result, the customers whose orders should have shipped first need to wait for goods. This caused unhappy clients and canceled orders. Several of the customers did not return causing permanent damage.
Solution: AIMS360 already has your customer data in the system. Therefore, you can allocate goods to the customer orders based on either a start shipping date, completion date or both.
Allocating Goods by Priorities
Scenario: Brand B has had issues with shipping the right customers on time. Certain customers are a higher priority for them (special order requests, loyalty, business volume, etc.) and they want to be sure these customers orders are prioritized during shipping. With a manual picking process, orders were missed and goods are shipped to non-priority customers causing further issues with the biggest customer. Brand B almost lost their largest client.
Solution: With Intelligent Allocation, AIMS360 brands don’t need to manually review each order. The rule was set up to ensure that the orders for the largest customer were always automatically prioritized.

Prioritizing by Order Source
Scenario: Brand C does both wholesale and retail business all with a single inventory. Retail orders are already pre-paid, and they have a good margin. Evidently, the brand should prioritize and ship retail orders first. Because of manual allocation picking, the allotted inventory directs to wholesale customers instead. This caused canceled retail orders that required refunding. Consequently, several of the retail customers wrote bad reviews about the brand.
Solution: Using Intelligent Allocation to prioritize paid retail orders is a sure-fire way to guarantee retail customers’ goods are shipped on time. There are a ton of variations you can create for your Intelligent Allocation rules. Apply these rules specific to your own operations.
