SUMMARY
Deeply rooted at the heart of the Ozark Mountains, Fayettechill, an outdoor retailer and wholesaler, is determined to bring its “Goods for the Woods, that are Good for the Woods”. Founded in 2009, they set out to bring its re-envisioned outdoor culture to nature enthusiasts. Quickly growing out of its college start-up phase, Fayettechill faced challenges young brands these days are all too familiar with. Frequent discounting and inventory surpluses were some of the drawbacks that kept Fayettechill from moving forward and growing its eco-conscious brand.
CHALLENGE + INSIGHT
First, we dove deep into their business management system and discovered it consisted of a POS system and manual processes. As a result, they had reached the full limit of their current set-up. Thus, they needed an advanced and dynamic solution to manage multiple fashion specific business processes at the same time and in one place. Fayettechill’s small team of 15 were spread thin; they had to:
- Track inventory and orders
- Locate an item among a frenzy of style numbers, colors, and UPC codes
- Manage multiple sales channels
- Strategically plan how to grow their brand
Fayettechill also faced common industry planning problems like over-producing and over-purchasing from the lack of accurate inventory info. High levels of inventory overstock and loss of profit weren’t helping their growth. In fact, the amount of inventory waste was setting Fayettechill back from their core value of sustainability.
SOLUTION + RESULT
With AIMS360’s fashion ERP software, Fayettechill was able to streamline its management process seamlessly. Plus, we eliminated most of the manual processes so they can focus on other areas. Without a doubt, Fayettechill had plenty of styles, colors, and inventory to upload into their system. All that was required to start organizing their inventory is a quick import of their styles and colors using Excel.
Next, we set them up with our ERP’s Shopify integration. Its auto-order import feature dramatically cut down the time it took to manually upload all of their orders. From their Director of Finance and Operations, David Murph remarked, “I can’t even imagine what the process would be like without the AIMS360 Shopify integration.” It became a crucial part of Fayettechill’s new day-to-day operations.
In addition, Fayettechill created specific reporting from AIMS360 Business Intelligence module. Within this module, they can track inventory movement from their warehouses to their online or physical store. This powerful feature enables users to create pivot tables of their own data for cases such as this.
“We saved $30,000 just by being able to accurately track inventory in AIMS360 and understanding how it moves,” says Murph.
Moreover, by analyzing inventory turn-rates they saw a huge improvement in their income statement. Not only did they save money but also valuable time. And as a result, they can focus on the important values of their company – improving their sourcing and product durability.
LOOKING AHEAD
However, the AIMS360 is a powerful ever-changing apparel management software so our work doesn’t stop there.
