Thriving Fashion Brands Process Returns w/ Returnly & AIMS360 Apparel Software
E-commerce returns overall average between 20% and 30% in apparel, according to National Retail Federation (NRF) study. With e-commerce return rates being higher for apparel, fashion businesses need a process for returns that satisfies the customer, handles the inventory, accounting, and reporting aspects. “In our studies, we saw a high percentage of fashion brands seeing customers return one style for another similar one. We also saw they were buying multiple colors or multiple sizes. Once they get the product, they are returning the ones that they don’t like or don’t fit.” says Shahrooz Kohan, CEO of AIMS360 apparel software.
In order to have one source of truth for your business, AIMS360 fashion ERP brings all your orders and returns in one place. For DTC orders, most brands integrate to Shopify’s direct to consumer e-commerce. AIMS360 apparel software has ran a successful in-house Shopify integration since 2012. For almost 10 years, AIMS360 fashion software has improved the Shopify integration making it one of the most robust integrations around. The out of the box feature works without having to sign up and pay for additional third-party integrators. The functionality includes style creation, image creation, real-time order, real-time inventory, real-time shipping, shipping connectors (ex: Shipstation), AI automations, and now Returnly.
The AIMS360 RMA handles both wholesale and direct to consumer (DTC) retail orders. The RMA feature allows wholesale returns to be entered against orders that were already shipped out and integrates to Returnly for automated direct-to-consumer returns processing. This results in all returns getting logged in AIMS360. Once the return comes back to the warehouse, it can be inspected and logged back into inventory, processed as a damaged item, or processed for repair.
AIMS360 apparel software partnered up with Returnly to handle the full returns process. The streamlined fashion ERP returns process works like this:
- The customer goes through the Returnly portal connected through Shopify e-commerce to get a return approval.
- An approved return is created with a proper shipping label.
- If the customer wanted an exchange, they could immediately get that exchange shipped out.
- The return is automatically integrated to AIMS360 RMA.
- Once the product is received by the warehouse, the return is finalized in AIMS360 fashion ERP. The return receipt is settled.
- Inventory is automatically updated to reflect non-damage and damaged items in AIMS360 apparel software.
- Customer’s refund is fully finalized in both AIMS360 and Shopify.
AIMS360 allows a centralized area for production & sales across multiple channels. This creates an omni channel system that handles vendors, inventory, customers, orders, accounts receivable, and more.
